Born Twice

The fool says in his heart,  “There is no God.” They are corrupt, their deeds are vile; there is no one who does good.Psalm 14:1 (NIV)

Today is my birthday, I share it with my Pastor's wife, Beverly--Happy Birthday Bev! I'm not telling you so you can wish me a Happy Birthday...but I'll take that too :)  I want to share about how I have been born twice.......yes twice.  On April 1, 1963 I was born into this world, my Father in Heaven knew all about me already...knitting me together in my mother's womb. (Psalm 139:13) My parents named me Elizabeth, the name of Hebrew origin, meaning God's promise. I actually like my name, though I did not always know what it meant. About 23 years ago, I was born-again. You may ask, How can she be born twice?

(John 3:4) Nicodemus in the Bible asked the same question to Jesus. Twenty-three years ago while on vacation, the Lord called me out of darkness and into
His light....His amazing love called me. (Ephesians 5:8) My life was changed.  Never again would my eyes see only "what eyes see".....never again would my ears hear only "what ears hear". The Spirit of God began to teach me.....all about Himself... through his Word, the Bible.  The Lord has shown me so much about who I am...He has taught me what pleases him and revealed to me when I do not do right...just outright sin against him... He has instructed me how I am to live my life on this earth to honor Him...I don't always get it right....but I am teachable.....I am so glad the Lord loved me enough to die for me and reconcile me back to the Father! The Bible says he has given me a new name (Revelation 2) My life was changed, my name was changed....I have been born- again....not because of anything I have done...but all because of what Christ has done.

How can one be born-again? Read: John 3
